Continental Arilines faces Saturday strike deadline
| Houston
Representatives of Continental Airlines pilots and flight attendants Thursday called a strike to protest wide-ranging pay cuts and changes in working conditions imposed after the airline filed for bankruptcy. Representatives of the pilots said they were prepared to go on strike Saturday morning and stay out until agreement was reached with the company.
A Continental spokesman said that despite the strike call, the airline expected to be able to continue operations uninterrupted. Meanwhile, the Airline Pilots Association was meeting in Houston to decide whether to stage a brief nationwide stoppage in sympathy with colleagues at Continental.
