Police in London claimed they smashed a worldwide phony perfume racket worth millions of dollars after a raid on a small factory in the East End. Police seized thousands of bottles of counterfeit scent, boxed and marked with the famous Chanel No. 5 logo. A private detective working for perfume companies said similar factories had been discovered in Mexico, Spain, and Italy.
