Floodwaters from Colorado River Surge

Parker, Ariz.

Floodwaters released from brimming reservoirs sent the Colorado River surging Tuesday. Federal officials began increasing releases from the Hoover, Parker, and Davis Dams Monday to ease the pressure of rapidly rising snow runoff from the Rocky Mountains. The floodwaters are expected to crest today (June 22). By Monday the water had already risen 17 inches.
