Tel Aviv — The Israeli Army is considering three contingency plans for limited withdrawals in Lebanon to reduce mounting casualties. Citing military sources, the Ha'aretz newspaper listed these withdrawal options:
* A minimal withdrawal in the Shouf mountains, mainly from the Aley region.
* A pullback to the Awali river, 50 miles north of the Israeli border.
* A withdrawal to the Zahrani River, 30 miles north of the border.
In Beirut, the Lebanese Parliament began debating the government's troop withdrawal agreement with Israel in a move toward ratification of the accord.
