China makes deal to air US commercial TV shows

CBS Inc. announced it reached an agreement with China to provide the Chinese national television network with 64 hours of commercial programming for a one-year period beginning in October.

The contract will give the Chinese the right to use programs of its choice - including current news reports and film footage from CBS archives going back to World War I. CBS said this provides for the first broadcast of American commercial television in China .
