Jack Kemp would be conservatives' choice for president if Ronald Reagan doesn't run for reelection. A poll by Conservative Digest said the Republican congressman from New York was picked by 34 percent of readers who answered the inquiry. Sen. Jesse Helms (R) of North Carolina was second, with 25 percent.
