Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

A House subcommittee rejected President Reagan's request for an added $50 million in military aid to El Salvador. It also cut military aid requests by more than a third for fiscal 1984 and 1985. Turning to Nicaragua, the panel approved a ban on all US aid to rebels - unless specifically requested by the President and approved by Congress. The measures will go to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
