A French doctor captured with Afghan rebels began an eight-year jail sentence , Radio Kabul said. A special revolutionary court convicted Philippe Augoyard of spying, twice entering Afghanistan illegally, and helping counterrevolutionaries. He was said to be on a humanitarian medical mission when he was captured.
