Another 79 children leave Vietnam, begin trip to US

Fifty-one children fathered by Americans during the Indochina war left Vietnam for Bangkok Thursday, on the 10th anniversary of the Paris peace accords , which the United States signed in 1973 to end its military involvement in Vietnam.

The children, the biggest group of mixed Asian-American parentage allowed to leave Vietnam, were accompanied by 28 ethnic Vietnamese half-brothers and half-sisters, as well as 24 mothers and guardians. The children were expected to fly to various points in the US next week.
