Iran jails two hijackers forced home with plane

Two Iranian noncommissioned officers who hijacked an Air Force transport plane to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sunday were in jail Tuesday in Iran after allowing the aircraft to return home, an Iranian diplomat said.

The hijackers - one accompanied by his family - failed in their attempts to gain political asylum in the United States and the UAE and later released the 76 passengers. After being refused landing permission in several countries, they returned to Iran.
