Bankers Trust Company of New York cut its prime lending rate Tuesday to 13 percent from the 13 1/2 percent rate that has prevailed since Aug. 23.
The small Mitsui Bank of Los Angeles also lowered its prime to 13 percent, but no major bank immediately followed Bankers Trust.
