No-tax advocate wins nod in Georgia governor race

State Rep. Joe Frank Harris, who promised never to raise taxes, won the Democratic nomination for governor of Georgia in a primary runoff with US Rep. Bo Ginn.

Mr. Harris immediately appealed for party unity against his Republican foe in the general election, state Sen. Bob Bell, who won the GOP nomination in the first primary Aug. 10.
