The picturesque seaside town of Rockport, Mass., on Cape Ann will host the Rockport Chamber Music Festival for the first time, launching the New England summer music season. The festival, a series of collaborative concerts during the first two weeks of June, will be strictly chamber music, making it unique in New England. Featured in the concerts, to be held from June 3 to June 6 and from June 10 to June 13, will be the Annapolis Brass Quintet, the American String Quartet, An die Musik, and the New York Bach Ensemble.

The concerts will take place in the Main Gallery of the Rockport Art Association building on Main Street. The musicians and audiences will be surrounded by paintings by many of Rockport's most renowned artists. Concerts will begin on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and on Sundays at 5 p.m. Single tickets are $7, a series of any four is $21, and the series of all eight is $42. For tickets and additional information, write to the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, P.O. Box 312, Rockport, Mass. 01966. A stamped, self-addressed envelope should accompany ticket requests.
