Iran's chief of police, Col. Ebrahim Hejazi, survived an assassination attempt when gunmen fired on his car Thursday morning, according to Tehran Radio , monitored in London. In a separate attack, unidentified gunmen shot and slightly wounded a Muslim prayer leader.
