Italy and NATO deny talks seeking Dozier freedom

Italian and NATO authorities Tuesday denied Rome press reports that negotiations with the Red Brigades urban guerrilla group for the release of kidnapped US Brig. Gen. James Dozier were under way in Geneva.

The reports said the Brigades wanted an $11 million ransom for General Dozier.

Monday night the Brigades issued their fifth message on the kidnapping and declared they had no intention of bargaining for the general's freedom.
