Counties made ends meet

America's county governments matched expenditures with revenues in fiscal 1980, according to a Commerce Clearing House report of the latest US Census Bureau data. The counties chalked up $56.1 billion in revenues, spending the same amount. Total revenues increased 8.9 percent, and expenditures rose 10.8 percent, over the previous year.
