Aging hail Reagan pledge to preserve social security

President Reagan said Dec. 1 he has wrongly been portrayed as ''an enemy of my own generation'' and promised cheering delegates of the White House Conference on Aging to preserve social security.

Mr. Reagan, in a major address on the problems of older Americans, said he would not let the complex and critical issue be politicized. The speech followed a vote by a conference committee on social security to oppose the use of general tax revenues to shore up the retirement fund - a victory for the administration.
