Apple harvest

Apples are currently being harvested in most of the apple producing areas of the States. To select apples, choose those that are firm, free from bruises, and heavy for their size.

Larger quantity purchases are usually more economical if you have a place to store apples. Fresh apples will keep up to thee weeks in the refrigerator. Store them in a polyethylene bag to help retain moisture and prevent transfer of food odors.
