Beirut — Israel has launched an underground guerrilla war against the Palestine Liberation Organization, says Salah Khalaf, a leading member of the mainstream Fatah Palestinian guerrilla group, who is known by the code name of Abu Iyad. He alleged in an interview with Monday Morning, a Beirut weekly, that the latest wave of bombings in Lebanon has been mastermined by Israeli agents. Israel denies the charge.
About 100 people have been killed and 450 wounded in a string of car bomb explosions in the past three weeks -- the latest in a crowded Palestinian quarter of Beirut on Thursday. This weekend another bomb in the same area was defused minutes before it was set-to-explode.
