Iran seizes Danish ship it says had arms for Iraq

Iran seized a Danish ship it said was carrying arms and explosives bound for Iraq. But the vessel's owner said it had been carrying only industrial gelignite for Kuwait.

The Danish Foreign Ministry said diplomats in Tehran were negotiating Wednesday for the release of the ship and its crew, seized off the strait of Hormuz, and that they expected the vessel to be released within 48 hours, after Iranians impounded the cargo.
