New Delhi — India and China agreed on talks to resolve their boundary dispute, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi said after meeting Chinese Foreign Minister Huang Hua. India and China fought a border war in 1962. The dispute has remained unresolved, causing strain in the relationship between them.
Asked whether there had been agreement on the border issue, she said: "The agreement is that we should talk about it."
The level of the talks will be decided at a later date.
Mrs. Gandhi also said she accepted an invitation from Premier Zhao Zhiyan g to visit China.
