La Selle named to Committee on Publication post

Mason A. La Selle of Bethesda, Md., has been appointed Manager of the Washington D.C., office of the Committee on Publication of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

As representative of The Mother Church in the nation's capital, Mr. La Selle will work closely with public officials, the news media, and other groups.

For the past nine years, Mr. La Selle has served the church as Christian Science Committee on Publication for Maryland. As the new District Manager, Mr. La Selle succeeds H. Dickinson Rathbun, who was named May 5 to The Christian Science Board of Directors.

Mr. La Selle is a retired foreign service officer whose 30-year career with the Department of State included postings in Geneva, Bonn, Berlin, Oslo, and Bogota, Colombia, and five years' naval service. From 1967 to 1969 he served as the administrative counselor of the American Embassy in Bogota and from 1969 to 1970 was executive director of the Office of Legal adviser at the State Department in Washington.

He has been a member of The Mother Service Association and of Diplomatic and Counsular Officers Retired Inc.

The appointment was effective May 26.
