Yamani says US must act to avert Mideast blowup

Saudi Arabia's oil minister, Ahmad Zaki Yamani, said the Middle East will explode unless the United States moves to bring about Arab-israeli peace. Sheikh Yamani, in remarks to the Foreign Policy Association here said that "unless the American administration makes a timely move to bring about peace, things will get out of hand and the area will explode."

Lack of American action to help create Arab-Israeli peace is the largest source of Saudi disillusionment with the US, S heikh Yamani said.
