25% of TV homes have cable ties

According to the February report of the A.C Nielsen Company, 25 percent of all US households with TV sets also had cable-TV hookups. This was an increase of 12 percent over figures for late 1980.

Rapid cable-TV growth is being attributed to special nonconventional features such as worldwide 24-hour news service, all-movie channels, expansion of dish-antenna-to-satellite installations for remote regions, and the wider choices of stations provided for cable TV clients in man y areas.
