US. to honor Iranian deal on hostages, Percy says
Washington — The Reagan administration will honor the US-Iran agreements that led to the freeing of 52 American hostages, Sen. Charles Percy said Tuesday. Mr. Percy, chairman of the Senate foreign Relations Committee, made the announcement at the start of a series of committee hearings on the deal and other aspects of the former Iran hostage crisis. "He [President Reagan] will fully implement these agreements," the senator said.
Under the agreement a claims account was to be set up this Friday, a deadline the administration said it expected to meet.
