US weighs a slash in foreign aid

President Reagan's economic advisers are considering a proposal that would slash US foreign aid by more than a third in the coming year, administration sources said. An "internal discussion document," prepared by the Office of Management and Budget, proposed that the foreign aid budget for 1982 be cut $2.6 billion. The proposed cuts would be across the board, affecting virtually every category of aid, the sources said, adding that the aid cutback would be the biggest sinc e World War II.
