Weidenbaum, an expert on business deregulation who served in the Nixon administration, as chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, a White House official said. Mr. Weidenbaum, a professor at Washington University in St. Louis, headed Mr. Reagan's transiti on team on regulatory issues.
