250,000 military veterans will be on the march again if Tom Saffer has his way. Saffer is meeting this weekend in Chicago with other leaders of the National Association of Atomic Veterans. They are trying to win free medical care for a quarter- million US servicemen who took part in some of the 183 above-ground atomic tests from 1945 to 1962. They claim many of the men suffer radiation-caused illnesses.

Founder of the group, Orville Kelly, witnessed 22 nuclear blasts. Shortly before he passed on this year, Kelly won government agreement that he was suffering from an illness caused by exposure to radiation.m
