More victims found in Salvadoran violence

The bodies of 31 people, the latest victims in El Salvador's continuing political violence, have been found in various parts of the capital and surrounding areas, police reported Wednesday. It was not known which of the many leftist and rightist groups in the country were responsible for the deaths.

Latin America correspondent James Nelson Goodsell says the killings are an escalation of the virtual civil war that has been going on in El Salvador for the last 18 months and may further complicate if not destroy efforts of moderate Salvadoreans and the US Embassy in San Salvador to find solutions to the violence.
