Business edges education at black colleges

Ten years ago, if you were attending one of the more prestigious private black colleges in the US, you probably were majoring in education. And only a handful of you were studying business (7 percent).

The United Negro College Fund, Inc., reports that last year 1 of every 4 students attending these colleges was a business major and that education now is in second place in popularity.

Engineering is a growing field of interest as are the health fields, chemistry, and communications.
