Canadian leaders meet on constitutional reform

Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and the premiers of Canada's 10 provinces met here Monday to fix a timetable and principles for renewal of Canada's dated British constitution. The conference, the 13th in 53 years to discuss Canadian constitutional reform, was prompted by a referendum last month in predominantly Francophone Quebec Province, in which voters rejected independence proposals, 59 to 41 percent.
