Blocking cold air

To the real estate editor: We have sliding windows in our home and have had the same draft problem as one of your readers in a recent column.

I bought some molding clay and worked it in around the window and it stopped the draft.

Also, around here some people buy heavy transparent plastic sheeting and put it on the outside of their windows, nailing laths around the edge of the plastic to the window frame. It really cuts down the penetration of cold air. :Mrs. B. Holly Higgins :Ashland, Ore.
