Rejection of pay offer raises Swedish tension

Union leaders in private industry rejected a wage offer Wednesday, virtually guaranteeing an industrial crisis that threatens to topple the coalition government. The Swedish Confederation of Labor Unions rejected the offer from mediators of a 2.3 percent raise, demanding 11.3 percent.
