Foreign ministers in EC agree on Iranian action

Foreign ministers of the European Community agreed in principle Tuesday to impose sanctions against Iran in support of President Carter's attempts to free the American hostages in Tehran. The sanctions could include an eventual trade blockade. Diplomatic sources said that member governments of the nine-nation Common Market will spend until May 17 preparing economic sanctions and that foreign ministers will meet again in Naples after that date to review progress.
