Kabul calls for talks with Iran and Pakistan

The pro-Soviet Afghan government Thursday called for talks with Iran and Pakistan as part of a five-point plan to ensure peace and security in the region , Tass news agency reported. A Tass dispatch from Kabul, the Afghan capital, said the plan was published by the Central Committee of the ruling People's Democratic Party. The proposals include bilateral talks with Iran and Pakistan to discuss normalizing relations and also call for a regional conference without conditions. It was not clear which countries would be invited to the conference.
