Violence mars funeral of Salvadoran prelate

A clash between fervent supporters and traditional foes of slain Archbishop Oscar A. Romero and a frenzied stampede of some 80,000 mourners at the prelate's funeral left 40 dead and 450 injured, officials said Monday.
