A snubbed energy summit

Were the 44 governors who failed to show up at the weekend's supposed energy summit conference voting with their feet by saving the energy that would have taken them to the convention hall in Little Rock? We doubt it. We suspect that they -- as well as missing main speaker Energy Secretary Duncan? -- were showing all too accurately how far America is from taking energy seriously enough. To the six governors who were there, we say, "Thanks, and do spread the word."
